(click questions below to reveal answers)
1. Do you accept payment plans?
No. Except in very unusual circumstances, attorney fees must be fully paid in advance. Fees can be paid with any major credit or debit card.
2. Do you accept debit and/or credit cards?
Yes. If a card is used to pay attorney fees, an additional 4% convenience fee is added.
3. If I pay a higher fee, is there a better chance for a better result?
No. It is unethical for an attorney to charge or accept a larger fee based on the outcome of a criminal matter.
4. I can’t afford an attorney. Do I have any options?
Except in very unusual circumstances, JP and municipal courts are not required to appoint a lawyer to represent you. In County or District Courts, you may be qualified to have a lawyer appointed to represent you.
5. If I am acquitted of the charge, or my case is dismissed, am I entitled to recover my attorney fees from the State?
There is no provision in the law that provides for reimbursement of attorney fees.
